Growing up, I saw exercise treated as a punishment, a way to "fix" our bodies to fit an impossible standard. As I studied psychology and gender studies, I realized we needed a new narrative. I stopped focusing on calories and started focusing on capability, discovering that movement could be a source of mental clarity and strength, not just physical change.
After 15 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I created Therapy Ryde to bridge the gap between the therapy couch and the bike.
It’s more than just a spin class. We ride to a high-energy pop playlist while integrating:
Mindfulness & CBT: To rewire negative self-talk.
Guided Meditation: A mid-class moment to process difficult emotions.
Community: A supportive space to sweat, cry, and celebrate.
My goal is to help you find a loving, powerful relationship with your body. We don’t ride to shrink ourselves; we ride to rise up in our power. I can’t wait to welcome you to the bike.

SALT’s mission to create a space where you feel "challenged, supported, and part of something bigger" perfectly aligns with the heart of Therapy Ryde. When I pitched the concept of a mental health-focused spin class to owner Tami Conway, she didn't just open her doors; she championed the vision. SALT provides the premium cycling experience and the safe, inclusive community foundation that allows our "therapy on a bike" to thrive.
